Nell'IT il termine infrastruttura viene utilizzata per indicare la parte fisica (hardware) utilizzata per interconnettere computer e utenti. Le infrastrutture comprendono i mezzi di trasmissione hardware e software, ossia tutto ciò che sostiene il flusso e l'elaborazione delle informazioni.
